Why Should Christians Undergo Tribulations?

 CHRISTIAN TRIBULATIONS

Why should Christians undergo tribulations, pains and sufferings?

Tribulations are the sufferings, pains, distresses, sorrows we undergo as a result of persecutions and afflictions; these are trials. Just as with you, everyone chooses to enjoy nothing short of peace, joy and satisfaction here on earth and even in the life after(Eternity), for those who have embraced the Love and Grace of Jesus Christ.

These amiable desires are distorted when challenges arise and man's heart is fixed in between faith and hope for victory and triumph. Just a reminder, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (Hebrews 11:1).

Permit my sharing with you the difference between victory and triumph. Triumph is the celebration and jubilation that follows after a victory has been won. Here, we can see Jesus, "... having spoiled [won victory over] principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it." (Colossians  2:15).

You see, we are no longer engaged in a battle against the devil and we are not looking for victory because Jesus already won for you and I the victory. "But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians  15:57). Rather, we are heirs of the Kingdom enforcing our already acquired victory in Triumph (See 2 Corinthians  2:14).

Paradoxical as it may appear, 'Christian tribulation' is just an epic to enforcing Christian Triumph. The process of triumphing from tribulations is achieved and sustained by unwavering faith- the victory that overcomes the world. I hope this knowledge keeps you peaceful no matter what comes our way.

"These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I [Jesus] have overcome the world." (John 16:33). Believe it,  tribulations and trials are not always palatable experiences for  anyone.

Do you think its nothing? Please, ask Jacob's dearest son (Joseph) what it feels like to be accused and punished unjustly. Ask Shadrach and his two friends what it seem like before the over-kindled furnace of fire. Oh! Ask Jesus too, how it appears at the eve of His arrest for actual crucifixion without a fault. You may also need to ask Paul of this various sufferings and tribulations before adversaries of the Gospel.

No wonder scripture was explicit about it, "...In the world ye shall have tribulation..." These are the very words of Jesus. Does this then mean that Christians are covenanted to a life of tribulation or are made objects of suffering and persecution?

Not so!  Christians only experience tribulations and trials to grow and be strong spiritually. Again, God's children are not staked to a life of tribulations and trials because they are endowed to always overcome; see this, "Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."(1 John  4:4).

Tribulations for God's Children are not actually meant to try them, but to try their consciousness of the victory Christ has given them and more to proclaim their triumph. Believers are products of victory and brands of victory in this world, the appearance of trials and tribulations are only to give visible expression to their VICTORY and celebration of their triumphs.

Believers therefore, should not be surprised or perturbed when confronted with tribulations, they are to prove your VICTORY. Every tribulation is a reminder of your inherited victory and overcoming stance. Your Victory is right there in you, with you and by you; assert it and trample over your tribulations and trials.

Remember 2 Corinthians  4:17, For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

Have you ever heard this? I don't think so,

TRIBULATIONS AGITATES TRIUMPH.
