PERFECTION & PEACE

I bring before you the subject of Peace. The desire for peace in the world cannot be overemphasised, specifically with the various devastating experiences that has sieged the human race in history. One truth many people have failed to come in terms with is, the quest for national peace can only be a reality when individual peace is attained. When individuals, families and organisations are able to achieve peace, then global peace will be much more achievable.

Get around and interact with people, you will discover how peace constitutes one of man's most invaluable needs. The lack of peace by individuals and groups have generated depression, fear and even different sort of medical challenges. I believe you will agree with me that peace cannot be man-made but divine (it is from God). While it is true that some people thought the reason for their lack of peace is a result of their inability to meet daily needs, family challenges, oppression and affliction; others are quick to blame people around them for their lack of Peace, little did they know that true peace can only come from God.

In the words of the psalmist, we derive some knowledge, see Psalms  37:37 "Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace." To experience peace and live in it, the fact is, such a one must always pursue perfection just has Christ commanded "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" (Matthew 5:48). You may like to ask, can a Man be perfect? I like to answer, A natural man can never be perfect, but a man born of the Spirit can be because He is made perfect in Christ and his perfection is no longer of the flesh but now of God's Spirit. Hence, when God demands a perfect life from us, He is simply calling us to a life in the Spirit. No wonder, I hear Paul in his epistle to the Galatians telling them to "...Walk in the Spirit..." so as not to be a victim of the flesh's imperfection. (Galatian 5:16)

Beloved, your pursuit of perfection will drive you to lead an upright life; a life of righteousness defying all wrongs. A life of perfection in Christ and uprightness is the express path to Peace. Do you desire Peace?  Then, you have to pursue perfection and uprightness, these can only be attained in Christ alone.

"And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places." (Isaiah 32:17,18).

 LET US PRAY FOR NIGERIA!   (DAY 5) "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem[Nigeria]: they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces...I will now say, Peace be within thee. Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good" (Psalm 122:6-10). Please Lord, Let your peace reign over Nigeria in Jesus' name.
