A SHARED VESSEL
In my little understanding, a vessel is anything that can contain substances or objects; better still, a container. I will not forget easily the difficulty associated with sharing things with others while we were younger, just as we seat and watch among children today. Two school children were given a toy gift to play with by their teacher having impressed her on their performance in lessons, while the first was engaged with the toy, the other demanded for the use of the toy, since they both can exercise ownership over the object. In couple of minutes, the two supposed friends were already at logger heads over the said toy. Not quite long from then, both of them started making aggressive statements of ownership over the toy than the other. In the end, a serious fight ensued between the two that would result in the damage of the toy. Do you know the toy ended up destroyed from the competitive pullings and dragging it was never spared of by these two kids. Dear reader, the end of a shared vessel is always destruction.
Who is a shared vessel? A shared vessel is someone who demonstrates loyalty and responsibility to two masters. Again, this is an individual who pledges allegiance to more than one superior. The scripture emphasises the futility and impossibility of submitting to God and the devil, "No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon." (Matthew 6:24; Luke 16:3). I pray you find understanding here; do you know many professing Christian are nothing but shared vessels? They have their talents, aspirations and in fact, their faith shared between God and the devil. They attend churches, render services in the choir, ushering, prayer, welfare teams..., but at the same time their hearts and bodies remains instrument and vessel of sins and unrighteousness. What a pity and a waste of effort! Even with their priestly assignments and responsibilities, they are still entangled in the web of bribery and corruption, they are still held by the handcuffs of smoking and drunkenness, they still remain in the prison of secret sins and occultism...they are still entrapped by sins and its evil appearances. Oh! What insensitivity and foolishness been a shared vessel.
The rather unfortunate thing is, God does not share His vessels with any other. I am sure you have heard, and if not let me tell you, "...for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God...(For the LORD thy God is a jealous God among you) lest the anger of the LORD thy God be kindled against thee, and destroy thee from off the face of the earth. (Exodus 34:14; Deuteronomy 6:15). Any attempt toward been a shared vessel is an open letter to destruction. May you never be a recipient of God wrath.
Beloved, a shared vessel has no part or recognition with God. A shared vessel is at the most, a borrowed vessel that will sooner than later be throw out except if such a one promptly embrace repentance and divorce the devil wholeheartedly. You Shared Vessel, your hope is not ended in as much you turn to Jesus now and not later, 'later' might just be too late for you, the Bible admonishes, "...come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you." (2 Corinthians 6:17). Christ is waiting to receive you if only you will quit been a shared vessel today.
Friend, don't be deceived, God cannot and will never share you with anyone. Its either you are for God or for Satan.
Change your status now from been a Shared borrowed Vessel to a Christ's chosen Vessel
