RENEWING THE MIND 2

There is always a new before the renewing, for without the new, there is nothing to renew. Pursue and attain a new life in Christ; then, the renewing begins.

The mind, although an visible part of the human body, wields great influence on the attitude, behavior, and actual way of life of a man. In fact, the central position the mind occupies in the physical and social existence of man has made it more referred to as the heart which is used to describe the place that houses the human life. For medical sciences, once the heart is bad, the physical existence of a man is threatened and when it stops beating, the man is dead. 

Dear friend, you must always strive for the healthy condition of your heart or mind. No wonder, Proverbs 4:23 says "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life." Renewing the mind is a conscious effort that must be made by someone who has benefitted of the saving Grace of God in Christ Jesus and have obtained a new heart experience. Getting your heart renewed is a product of your determination and commitment to keep your mind from all thoughts and vices that are capable of polluting and defiling it as well as turning the mind against God. In clear terms, a renewed heart/mind is a renewed conscience.

Let's see again, "And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove that which is good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God"(Roman 12:2). Our continuous and healthy relationship with

God will only be feasible when our mind is been renewed from time to time. This will keep us stable with God and will not allow the devil to take rulership of our lives. You see, it is the renewing of our mind that keeps our conscience transformed, holding us from conforming with the world's practices and pleasures. When your heart is renewed you will not lead a rising and falling spiritual life "Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee" (Psalms 119:11).

Beloved, to keep your mind/heart renewed, you must develop an intimate and growing relationship with God in prayers and studying of His Word on a daily basis. We see in scripture, "Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak." (Matthew 26:41); "This book of the law shall not depart out thy mouth; that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous...(Joshua 1:8)". With these, you will get your mind re-newed on a daily basis and have the power and courage to resist the devil whenever he tries to pull us away from the path of righteousness, "...Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:2).

...but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind.

Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces...I will now say, Peace be within thee. Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good" (Psalm 122:6-10). Please Lord, Let your peace reign over Nigeria in Jesus' name.
