WHY FIGHT?

I have grown to understand as a young Christian that fighting is not good. Those days as children, we were taught to abstain from fighting and anything that is capable of causing it. All the same, as a Christian I have also grown to understand that their is the God's own fight, that is the fight that God carries out by Himself on behalf of His children. When God is involved in your fight, you don't do that yourself, God does it for you.

Many of us get aggressive after been offended by a friend or neighbour, we will never allow offences pass without a commensurate retaliation. This is what often escalate to fights which the bible does not support. The scripture says clearly

"The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." (Exodus 14:14).God says He will fight for you because He doesn't want you to fight,  He says that so that you will not need to fight anybody, so that you won't feel cheated after been offended by a foe, so that you can always find comfort and get assured that God is fighting for you even when everyone around you sees and calls you a fool because you will not fight anyone.

Dear friend, since God has promised to fight for you, why do you still take up fights that you cannot win in your own strength. Since, He has decided to give you peace when your enemies try to trouble you, why have you decided to reject peace and plunge into distress. 

The God fighting for you, Psalm 24:8, calls Him "The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle". God will fight for you. When God fights for you, all you need to do is to seat  back and watch; when God fights for you, you will ever remain on the winning side; when God fights for you, no territory can lost; when God fights for you, your testimonies will confound your foes,... Let God fights for you. 

Let God fight for you; then, you give Him the praise.

 LET US PRAY FOR NIGERIA!   (DAY 5) "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem[Nigeria]: they shall prosper that love thee. Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces...I will now say, Peace be within thee. Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek thy good" (Psalm 122:6-10).
