STAINED?

Stains are not difficult to discover on the surface. I remembered the other day, I got a white shirt of mine stained with oil, it was not funny, I felt ashamed than embarassed to be seen that way. Unfortunately, I was not in any way close to my wardrobe, I could have changed immediately. Many thanks to that small white handkerchief of mine that covered up till I  was able to get an alternative.

Stains are unwanted and embarrassing, they are blemishes that demeans our appearance and presentation. Just imagine yourself in your well tailored  and laundered office outfit, standing for a cab to work, then got stained by mud water from a reckless drive; I am sure you would rather be late than appear in stains at work. However, the incident may appear too light an offence from the motorist since it was not an intentional act; yet it could cost an identity slight you might not get over  so soon. 

Dear reader, much as we detest stains physically, it is expected that we show more of this spiritually. It is quite painful that little attention is given to our spiritual purity, probably because spiritual stains are not visible on the surface like the physical except it is manifested in its leavens- "...by their fruits we shall know them"(Matthew 7:20). 

Spiritual stains is inflicted by those things we engage in that makes us appear unclean before God; these things are our wicked lifestyle and the sins we commit, they get our spiritual garment stained and makes us appear before God dirty, wretched, stinking and impure (Psalm 24:3-5). Spiritual stains makes us ashamed to stand in God's presence and makes us fret before the devils threatenings.

Friend, do you have a restrain to call on God? Do you feel you speak to the air when ever you attempt the praying lane? Do you experience lack of connection in the place of praise? Do you hear a inner voice condemning your passionate service in His vineyard?  Do you feel unworthy to stand in His holy place? Do you have the devil threatening your life in the day or night?...? Beloved, you might just be STAINED. 

One interesting thing about spiritual stains is  it's remedy in the precious Blood of Jesus. "But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin[stain]."(1John 1:7)

All that is required of you to get the stains off your spiritual garment is to get on your knees right where you are now and tell your Heavenly Father(God) to wash away all your stains with the Blood of Jesus Christ. 

"How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge[Cleanse, Wash, Purify, Sanctify] your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?"(Hebrews 9:14)

Keep your garment clean and pure.
