VANITY

In the words of the preacher "...vanity of vanities; all is vanity."(Ecclesiastes 1:2) The vanity of life is a priceless and eternal true that all hominid must always be conscious of. In simple and direct terms vanity means emptiness and valuelessness. The preacher in his expression was pointing at the unending meaninglessness of man's toils and labours in this world.

You see, we give our time, strength and skill to a number of earthly venture that are actually good with little attention of the usual end of it all. Have you seen or ever heard of a man who lived forever? Have you heard of anyone who dies and still lives on the earth? Have you heard of anyone whose achievement have not been challenged or surpassed in generations? The dressing point is that life itself is vanity and in it is no hope. Man is born to live, and lives to die...Man is born to die.

Beloved, the unchanging death as man's end should place your thought in the realms of defining a hope for yourself regardless of death. In short, I feel to say, man's one business as he lives is a pursuit of hope for his hopeless and vain life. What do you think?

If on the same thought lane, let's continue. The cure from the vanity disease I find in scripture, let's see John 3:11-15;

11 Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.

12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

13 And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life."

Dear friend, ETERNAL LIFE- that is the cure to vanity. You want to have hope for your life regardless of vanity, Eternal life is the key. Eternal life outlives death, eternal life cannot be conquered. Despite the vanity of Life, Eternal Life gives an hope that exist beyond this world of vanity to an Heaven of eternal life with God.

Eternal life for you can only be guaranteed by living a life in Christ which comes by surrendering your life to Christ and receiving Him as your Lord and Saviour, that was why He died for you. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son[Jesus], that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting[eternal] life." (John 3:16). Turn to Jesus, believe Him today and be assured of eternal life.
