MR. THIEF 2
A thief is someone who steals; in other words, a person who takes what does not rightfully belongs to him or her. These days several means are adopted to steal, while some device tricks and deceits as familiar among pickpockets, internet fraudsters and the one termed 419; others will engage the use of force to get what does not belong to them. The activities of armed robbers visiting places or on the highway will properly describe this.
One undisputable fact about thieves anywhere on planet earth and perhaps beyond is that they are so detested. A thief is a criminal and this treated and punished as such. You will be fast to remember the capital punishment melted on the two thieves ('male factors' as used in the Bible) that were punished with sinless Jesus. They were crucified to death. "And one of the male factors (thieves) which were hanged with him[Jesus] railed on him...but the other answering rebuked him..." (Luke 23:39-43). You see, there is hope for a thief, because of the chance to make his way right.
Dear reader, are in any way involved in stealing; depriving people of their inheritance, enriching yourself with public funds, demanding bribes to trample on state edicts, taking advantage of another man's wife or daughter... You, I mean you are the Mr. Thief we are pointing at this time. You know what? Stealing is a manifestation of cowardice and doubt in the ability of your creator (God), who has promised to make provision for all your needs according to His own riches (Philippians 4:19). We need to learn to take God by His word.
In any case, dear friend, I like you to know, that is not the end you can still change your personality and identity just like the thief on the other side did. He got and enjoyed instant mercy and pardon with a assurance of an heavenly abode "...Verily I say unto thee [Mr. Thief], To day shalt thou be with me in paradise" (Luke 23:43). On the other hand, if you refuse to renounce stealing and plead for mercy as the other thief did, you will certainly suffer irredeemable punishment, eternal destruction and death. "For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." (John 3:17,18).
I like to end by raising a point, although you may find it strange, most of the sins we commit are founded in stealing. You told that lie because you stole something and would want to cover up. Think deeply, and you will see, stealing is tied to your sin one way or the other. The devil started is devilish ministry by stealing God's law from Eve's heart. Do you still commit sin and displease God all the way, you are the Mr. Thief and you must repent and forsake your sin and be part of God's family here on earth and in Heaven. You can be free from stealing.
You don't need to be a thief, God has promised to supply all your needs.
